GUWAHATI, Feb 6: Ola Electric has announced its entry into the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of the Roadster X series, aiming to revolutionize motorcycling with advanced performance and an exhilarating riding experience. As India’s largest pure-play EV company, Ola Electric is introducing the Roadster X series at a starting price of ₹74,999 for the base model, ₹1,04,999 for the Roadster X+ 4.5kWh variant, and ₹1,54,999 for the top-end Roadster X+ 9.1kWh model, which features the 4680 Bharat Cell and offers an impressive range of 501 km per charge. The series includes three variants with battery capacities of 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh, priced at ₹74,999, ₹84,999, and ₹94,999, respectively. The motorcycles come with a standard warranty of three years or 50,000 km, with deliveries set to begin in mid-March.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, emphasized the significance of electric motorcycles in India’s mobility landscape. He highlighted that after making electric scooters mainstream, the company is now focusing on accelerating EV adoption with its futuristic Roadster series. He believes these motorcycles will transform both urban and rural mobility, offering unmatched range, reliability, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology. He expressed confidence that this new range will further the company’s vision of ending the internal combustion engine era and making electric vehicles the preferred choice for Indian riders.

Designed for superior performance, efficiency, and reliability, the Roadster series features a compact and modular design, enabling seamless adaptation to various riding conditions. It is equipped with a mid-drive motor for enhanced performance and safety, along with a powertrain that includes a chain drive and an integrated motor control unit (MCU) for efficient torque transfer. This results in superior acceleration, improved range, and cost efficiency. The battery system follows a modular design approach, allowing flexibility across different capacities while ensuring safety and energy efficiency. It boasts an IP67 waterproof and dust-proof certification, advanced wire bonding technology, and a serviceable Battery Management System (BMS) for easy maintenance. The motorcycles are built on a user-friendly double cradle frame architecture, which offers a strong yet lightweight structure with optimized weight distribution. This lowers the center of gravity, enhancing stability, maneuverability, and overall rider safety.
