Feelings of anxiety, difficulty sleeping, a compromised immune system, and vague aches and pains are not uncommon symptoms of being overly stressed.

Enjoy the little things in life because one day you will look back and realize that they were big things happening around you. Little things are necessary because they encompass the vast majority of our lives. Significant events occur sporadically. There are small moments. When you neglect the little things, you miss out on enjoying your life to the fullest.

I have heard a story in my childhood – a hen used to lay a golden egg everyday but her owner thought of killing that hen and taking out all the eggs together for great happiness. If no egg is found and no hen is left, then it means that small happiness is more important in life than a big happiness.

It can also be harmful to think of big things without appreciating the smaller ones. There is an external and internal pressure associated with grand achievements, and living under too much pressure has a negative effect on your mental and physical health.

Feelings of anxiety, difficulty sleeping, a compromised immune system, and vague aches and pains are not uncommon symptoms of being overly stressed. Always wanting more than enjoying the simple things we already have, can lead to a very unsatisfying life.

While goals and dreams are definitely beneficial, the insatiable desire to get more can make you feel dissatisfied and angry. The constant effort to move forward takes you away from joy and gratitude in the present moment.

This type of mindset distracts you from what you have and puts it on the idea of lack. However, a grateful heart allows you to see the good in appreciating the little things that are happening right now.

The ability to appreciate the little things can greatly improve your life. There is reason to celebrate the little things and be grateful everyday with a little change in perspective.

Just as every day has its own joys, so every day has its own struggles. When there is a lack of gratitude for the little things in our lives, these struggles can affect us even more. A positive and grateful mindset, however, will build our resilience when we face daily frustrations.

Don’t feel like you’re in the universe and already feel his part. Ego makes us feel different from the positive because it makes us believe that we are more than others. Appreciate your identity; you are a unique code within a vast spectrum, although some say the opposite.

Always focus your thoughts on being positive and do not deceive yourself. From the beginning they sound like extremely simple recommendations, but really many people find it difficult to understand and internally. We must remember that we are what we do, and that no change is easy.

Often people say – be happy man! It doesn’t cost a fortune to be happy. Is this completely true? Just ask the rich man, who has all the luxuries of the world, but spiritual happiness, real happiness … can he buy with wealth? No. We should not really look outside to experience happiness. Happiness is within us. Only inner stillness, contentment, comfort and harmony/ kindness/ affection towards the creature and constant realization of your ability to face the situation can give you real happiness.

Once you become sensitive and capable from within, then what is it! Look around you and see – life will look full of happiness – the humming of whirlpools, the chirping of birds, the chirping of children, their glowing faces, the soothing sound of rain, the fragrant rising from the earth after that, the feeling of air…. and don’t know what.. all these will make you happy. In the famous words of Omar Khayyam: “Be happy in this moment. This moment is life!”

So, we try our best to keep ourselves happy and keep others as well. Yes, there is one thing to keep in mind-never try to be happy at the “expense” of others. That is, by bullying the weaker ones themselves, enjoying the failures or troubles of others, making others work harder (e.g., whenever I pick up fat and able-bodied people at religious places, especially young men) by labourers. I don’t like to see Sinkia riding on mules.

Or dangerous driving in the name of thrill on the roads are some of the pleasures that in my view are taken at the “expense” of others. We enjoy paradise as soon as we find these little joys because the famous writer Martha Trolley Curtin said: “The time you enjoy wasting is not a waste of time.” (The author is a Research Scholar, poet, independent journalist and columnist, All India Radio and TV Panalist)
