The “Silpi Satta” means the essence of an artist.This collection of poems is written by Arup Saikia. The theme or material of the poems are based on the present perspective of socio-cultural and personal thinking of human beings. This book of poetry is one kind of symbolic expression of human thoughts in various periods of life.Poet Arup Saikia said”The vicissitude of our thoughts go through depression, expectation, romanticism and pristine nature with holistic approach to everyone. The revolutionary zeal and subsequent conflicts with rulers, companions and beloved ones are reflected in “Silpi Satta”.
INSIGHT: The poetic fame of Arup Saikia rests primarily on his socio-cultural poems rather than on nature separated from humans. The true cultural son of the soil, poet’s ideas are stimulated by feeling of surrounding traditional happening in day to day life. The compromising nature of so-called artists can’t acquire the genuine aspects of people’s art.This is beautifully depicted in poetic or allegorical verses. By reading the poems of Arup Saikia,like “Sabda” or “Biplab” one can get a matchless digestive taste. It’s easy to acknowledge that the poet is endowed with unusual gifts of perception and expression. That have established him as a poet of own style without imitating anybody.

The experience he gained carefully adored in heart to exit through the brain in the form of poetry. The emergence of poetry from such a mobile milieu expresses itself as the poetry of peculiar excellence. For the interest of depicting a sense of life, the poet takes recourse to careful plot ,walking at a slow relaxed speed.
DIVERSE ZEAL: Some lines of his revolutionary poetry electrify readers’ brains with a strike of passion. Saikia’s attitude towards nature is of the Wordsworthian romantic type and not of the critically evaluated outlook of Tennyson or Arnold.The deep bonding that spring season illuminate by spotlights of affection blended with natural beauty clearly shown in “Bhalpuwar Baat Digholia “.
