GUWAHATI, Aug 2: Northeast’s largest and first-of-its-kind art, craft, and stationery material exclusive showroom, ‘Pencil – The Creative Soul’, opened its grand outlet on the second floor of Roodraksh Mall, Bhangagarh, Guwahati. The showroom was inaugurated by Assam Police DIG (CWR) Indrani Baruah, in the presence of the founders and owners, Nupur Agarwala and Saurabh Agarwala, along with their parents, Kunj Behari Agarwala, Sumitra Devi Agarwala, Govind Nalotia, and Sunita Nalotia.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest DIG Indrani Baruah, IPS, remarked, “Pencil itself describes the uniqueness of this showroom. Every need, from students to professional artists to businessmen, can be fulfilled under one roof. The showroom is state-of-the-art and very well designed. It’s a pleasure to have such a wide range of items in one place in Guwahati.”
Nupur Agarwala, during the inauguration, shared that the Pencil showroom houses materials for fluid art, fabric art, decoupages, resin art, macrame, sketching, ink art, mixed media, die cutting, miniature art, mandala, painting, crafting, school and office stationery, and many more art forms. “In short, we have everything related to art and craft,” she said.
Agarwala also mentioned that the showroom will offer specialised art and craft classes for kids and adults on various art forms. A specially designed art area has been created inside the showroom for these classes. Additionally, the showroom will promote the artwork of various artists by providing space to showcase their creations.
“This showroom will not only motivate budding artists and craftsmen but also enhance the availability of such materials in Guwahati,” she added. Guests and artists who visited the store have appreciated the range of products and termed it an artist’s paradise. Pencil began operations in June 2022 and has now doubled its area, material, and workshop space in the new showroom at Roodraksh Mall, Bhangagarh.
