3,636 beneficiaries benefitted under PM Kisan Samman Sammelan in Dima Hasao

HAFLONG, Oct 17: North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council chairperson Ranu Langthasa attended the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 programme held at Haflong Krishi Vigyan Kendra on Monday.
Deputy commissioner of Dima Hasao, Nazreen Ahmed, ACS also attended the programme as guest of honour.
Atleast 1561 beneficiaries out of 3636 qualified beneficiaries have received their 12th installment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer.
Under the scheme, eligible farmer families are provided a benefit of Rs 6000 per year in three equal installments of Rs 2000 each, said district agriculture officer cum joint director Ritwik Kemprai.
Kemprai said that for maximum benefit from the government under various schemes, it has been made mandatory for Aadhaar seeding of the beneficiaries. In-spite of repeated effort from the departments, people are reluctant to submit their e-KYC which can be done at their nearest customer service centers available across the district.
Chief guest Ranu Langthasa, during her speech encouraged the farmers present in the programme on how the efficient efforts by the farmers can lead them to successful farming.
Praising the government, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Langthasa stressed that in Dima Hasao, the farmers should consistently work on various innovative farming with the help of the concerned line departments and officials.
The deputy commissioner in her speech placing her desire to help the farmers in all possible ways informed that very soon with the help of the Agriculture department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, the district administration will help the farmers in flourishing mushroom cultivation in Dima Hasao.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Rashmita Saikia, senior scientist and head, KVK and Dr Shankar Gogoi.
The programme was also attended by the SDO, Agriculture Lalingangi Nampui, DIPRO Purabi Phonglo, ADOs Sujata Phonglo and Swarupa Rajiyung.
