Mumbai, Jan 3: Four ancestral properties of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, currently a fugitive, situated in Maharashtra will be auctioned by the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Authority (SAFEMA) on January 5.
The properties in question are agricultural plots located in Mumbke village in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district, known to be Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar’s ancestral village. The total reserve price for the four properties is set at Rs 19.2 lakh, with the smallest plot having a reserve price of Rs 15,440.
SAFEMA had previously auctioned over 17 properties belonging to Dawood Ibrahim in the years 2017 and 2020. These properties were seized by the SAFEMA competent authority due to cases related to smuggling and NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act against Dawood Ibrahim and his family members.
A statement from SAFEMA revealed that the properties being auctioned on January 5 belong to Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar’s mother, Amina Bi. The statement also mentioned that several bids have already been received and the auction will take place between 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm on January 5.
