Topcem Cement empowers needy students with school stationery

GUWAHATI, Dec 9: Topcem Cement distributed essential school stationery items to approximately 500 underprivileged students across 13 institutions in Kamrup Metro and Kamrup districts on Monday.

The initiative being a part of Topcem Cement’s social responsibility, aimed to bridge the educational gap for economically disadvantaged children.

The distribution included school stationery items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers, which were handed over to institutions like Assam Sishu Kalyan Sadan, Seven Sisters Home, Lankeswar Home, UTSAH Education Center, Ashaneer, CL Home Jalukbari, Kasturi Home, Sneha Bandhan2, Jibonalaya CL Home, CL Home Fatashil, Observation Home Boko and Jalukbari Higher Secondary School .

Approximately 9,000 pencils, 6,000 pens, 1,100 notebooks, and 9,000 sharpeners and erasers were distributed, according to a press statement.

Anil Kapur, Sr President, sales & marketing, Meghalaya Cements Ltd., handed over the school stationeries to the beneficiary institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, “By providing school stationery, we ensure that children have the necessary tools to unlock their potential. We thank UTSAH Child Right Organization for their partnership and welcome Jalukbari Higher Secondary School for their active participation.”

“Topcem Cement has been supporting this initiative since 2021, demonstrating its dedication to empowering future generations through education. The company is committed to fostering a culture of learning, promoting compassion and responsibility among students, and bridging the educational gap for underprivileged children”, the statement concluded.
