The Women’s Reservation Bill (The Constitution – 128th Amendment Bill) 2023 was passed by Lok Sabha on Wednesday (September 20) with 454 votes in its favour and two votes opposing it.

The Bill was tabled by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on the first day of House proceedings in the new Parliament House.

The Bill named as the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (NSVA) proposed to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in the Parliament and the state Assemblies.
