NAMSAI, May 11: In a show of growing support and regional solidarity, businessman and social worker Bengia Bado was accorded a warm reception on Saturday following his appointment as the President of the Youth Council of the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA).
The event, organised by the PPA Kurung Kumey District Unit, marked a significant moment in the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen youth leadership and expand its grassroots presence across the state.
According to an official statement from the PPA, the reception-cum-interaction programme took place at a city resort in Chandannagar, drawing attendance from party leaders, youth members, and supporters from across districts including Kurung Kumey and the Itanagar Capital Complex.
The gathering aimed to celebrate the induction of new state executive members while also outlining the strategic direction of the Youth Council under Bado’s leadership.
Addressing the gathering, Bengia Bado expressed his deep gratitude to PPA State President and 14th Doimukh MLA, Nabam Vivek, for reposing trust in him to lead the youth wing of Arunachal Pradesh’s oldest regional party.
“The PPA has been tirelessly working for the people of Arunachal since its inception in 1977. I am honoured to be part of a party that holds the genuine aspirations of the people at its core,” Bado stated during his speech.
In his remarks to the media, Bado reaffirmed his commitment to serving the state’s youth and contributing to social progress through the platform of the PPA.
“We have a responsibility to prepare the younger generation for leadership roles, and I will work diligently to uphold that mission,” he said.
Calling upon citizens to support the People’s Party of Arunachal, he described the party as the “true regional voice” dedicated to the welfare, identity, and development of Arunachal Pradesh.
The event featured spirited discussions on the future direction of the PPA’s youth council, with participants emphasising the need to mobilise young voters, promote political awareness, and address challenges such as unemployment and access to education in remote areas.
The gathering also served as a platform to reiterate the party’s core ideology and reaffirm its relevance in the current political landscape.
Senior PPA leader Kaling Jerang was present at the reception, along with other newly appointed state executive members.
Leaders of the Kurung Kumey District Unit and representatives from Itanagar Capital Complex were also in attendance, offering their congratulations and pledging their support to the new youth leadership.
In line with the party’s broader objective of reinforcing grassroots democracy, the event underscored the importance of engaging the younger generation in political processes and equipping them with the tools to lead future development initiatives.
The official statement released after the event described the reception as a “step forward in energising the party’s youth wing and strengthening the regional movement that the PPA has championed for over four decades.”
As Bengia Bado assumes his new role at a critical time for regional politics, the PPA hopes to leverage his experience as a businessman and social worker to bridge the gap between policy and people, especially in youth-centric areas.
