Carcass and skins of wild animals disposed in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, MARCH 21: The officers and officials of the Itanagar forest division and Itanagar wildlife sanctuary on Thursday disposed off carcass and skins of wild animals and hornbill beak

The Ranga Forest officer (RFO) Tadar Raju informed that on March 19 (Wednesday) the items were seized from Gang Market area. It was found during the surprise raid conducted by the teams but unfortunately that the person involved managed to flee the scene, said RFO Raju.

26 nos of languor skin, 1 skin of Barkign Dear, Serow Dear skin four nos, 3 nos of Bear skin and one Hornbill beak were seized. We are not only carrying out raids but time and again it has been our target to create awareness among the denizens. We cannot deploy manpower 24 hours a day but it is a greater responsibility that we have to think ourselves about our rich biodiversity. So we also insisted on mass awareness. On many situations we could not find the person directly carrying such wild meats and Caracas. Various means and activities are being done to stop the hunting like of Airgun surrender Abhiyan, registration of cases, offence drawn and arrest of alleged accused and disposal of seized materials etc. Several legal actions have been taken previously, Raju added.
