IMPHAL, MAY 20 (NNN): Director General of Police (DGP) of Manipur, P Doungel has strongly refuted to the allegation made reportedly by ten (Kuki) MLAs of Manipur that “all Kuki police officers and Kuki police personnel in the state were stripped off all powers, disarmed and rendered inactive much prior to May 3, 2023”.
The Manipur police chief in a press statement said today, “This is to clarify that there is no such action taken by the government or from any quarter”. The DGP also said that “all the Kuki/Meitei policemen right from the DGP to the lowest rank, whether in khaki or in green, are all performing their duties to their best wherever they are assigned”.
The DGP was reacting to a letter reportedly submitted to the Union Home minister by the 10 (Kuki) MLAs of Manipur a few days ago.
