Drugs seized in Tripura village

GUWAHATI, Dec 11: Illicit products worth of Rs 18 lakh have been confiscated by the Border Security Force (BSF) stationed in Srimantapur, in the South district of Tripura.

In the Srimantapur region, the BSF Tripura Frontier soldiers conducted a special operation against drugs, and according to a press statement from the BSF, 1,550 Yaba pills worth Rs 7, 75,000 were taken into custody.

“BSF is committed to combating the issue of border smuggling on the Indo- Bangladesh international border and against the menace of Narcotics items in the state of Tripura and endeavor to make it a Narcotics free State”, the press release added.

In a separate operation, the BSF also found sugar, eskuf/phensedyl, and other illegal goods at other places. The total confiscation value of these products was Rs 10,11,290.
