Japan International Cooperation Agency implemented in Nagaland

KOHIMA, March 30 (NNN): Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was “satisfactorily” implemented in Nagaland. This was stated by Nagaland chief secretary J Alam during a review meeting of the High Power Committee, Nagaland Forest Management Project Society (NFMPS-JICA) in Kohima recently.

The Nagaland chief secretary stated that Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a very important project for the state of Nagaland. The project is being implemented “satisfactorily” in the state, he stated.

Stating that the main objective of the project was to improve forest ecosystem and support income generation by rehabilitation of jhum areas and provision of livelihood support, Alam encouraged the team to have a portal where all collected data can be uploaded so that they can be analysed without any delay.

Alam also called for convergence of departments for the success of all projects in the state. He stated that a concrete strategy on convergence should be at place. The chief secretary, in his concluding remarks, stated that good suggestions and decisions were made in the meeting and opined that the HPC should meet more often to review the progress of the project.

The annual work plan (FY 2022-23) was presented during the meeting. The HPC also reviewed the last meeting minutes and discussed various agenda pertaining to convergence and implementation of the project.
