CHURACHANDPUR, May 1: A Bailey bridge over the Tuivai river collapsed in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, officials said on Friday.
The bridge, situated between Sinzawl and Khuanggin villages along NH-102B, gave way on Thursday evening while two trucks loaded with cement were crossing it, they said.
No casualty was reported in the incident, they added.
The route is a crucial supply line for Churachandpur, facilitating the movement of essential commodities from Silchar in Assam and other areas via Mizoram.
Restoration work is underway on a war footing to resume connectivity, officials said. (PTI)
