DIMAPUR, Sept 20: Trekking through uncharted territory in 2022, a group of Naga women entrepreneurs came together to form the Women Entrepreneurs Network of Nagaland (WENN) to provide peer support and collective growth of women entrepreneurs in Nagaland.
Continuing their mission to strengthen the business acumen of women entrepreneurs of the state, the WENN will host the 4th edition of WENN Bazaar at CT Square, Chumoukedima, from October 2-4.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Saturday, WENN chairwoman Alemjungla Jamir said the event, supported by Nagaland industries and commerce department, will offer the women entrepreneurs a vibrant marketplace to showcase their products, while engaging in workshops, networking and skill development.
She said 110 women entrepreneurs have already registered to participate in the bazaar to be held on the theme ‘year of business governance’. The event is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors, with a projected sale of Rs 50 lakh.
The WENN started the pilot event in 2022 with 53 participants, fetching a sale of Rs 18 lakh, while its second edition sales grew to Rs 36 lakh with 75 stalls and 7,000 plus visitors.
The skill-building workshop of the event this time will include shiitake mushroom cultivation, calligraphy and bouquet-making, traditional loin loom weaving, banana fibre paper crafting, solar-powered lively innovations and business compliance and documentation.
The bazaar will also have interactive zones for networking, peer learning, and family-friendly activities.
It will remain open from 9 am to 11 pm.
The organisers have invited all from Nagaland and neighbouring states to the bazaar.
