DIMAPUR, Jan 15: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Thursday said the ongoing entire recruitment process in the police department must be conducted with the highest standards of transparency, fairness and accountability.
It stressed that meritocracy must be strictly upheld at every stage of selection, ensuring that only deserving and qualified candidates are selected without any form of favouritism, nepotism or undue influence.
The NSF also urged the Nagaland home department and all agencies concerned to ensure that the recruitment process is completed in a time-bound manner.
In a release, the federation said it will continue to closely observe the process in the interest of justice, fairness and transparency.
It hoped that the state government will set a benchmark through this recruitment drive by upholding integrity and efficiency, thereby inspiring confidence among the people of the state.
Appreciating the home department for initiating and carrying forward the ongoing police recruitment drive across the state, the federation acknowledged the efforts of the state government in addressing long-standing vacancies in the police force and for creating employment opportunities for deserving Naga youth.
The NSF said a strong, professional and well-equipped police force is vital for ensuring public confidence in the institutions of governance.
“The present recruitment process is a significant step towards strengthening the policing system in the state,” it added.
