Itanagar, Nov 13: The Tripura Police have detained a lawyer with alleged involvement in the murder of a deed writer from a local court. Amit Acharjee, the victim, who functioned as a deed writer for the district and sessions court, was purportedly attacked by a group of lawyers due to professional envy.
The incident, which took place on September 5, resulted in Acharjee suffering severe injuries after being brutally beaten by several lawyers. Despite receiving immediate medical care and being transferred to Kolkata for further treatment, he passed away on September 23.
Dilip Acharjee, the victim’s father, narrated the hurdles he encountered in his quest for justice for his son. His efforts included reaching out to the governor, chief minister, and the chief justice of the high court.
