Reflecting on the Covid-19 pandemic management in India, the minister stated that technology has enabled the government and governance to deliver every rupee meant for every beneficiary directly to their accounts without any corruption or delay. “India, being one of the fastest-growing economies in the world and the fastest-growing startups and innovation ecosystems in the world, has produced hundreds of unicorns (billionaires) and has received the highest FDI in the world,” he mentioned. The Union minister also said that India has overcome the turmoil and challenges of the Covid pandemic even if the countries such as China and US are still struggling with the 3rd and 4th waves of the disease. “Looking back to the last several years, we assume that technology has played a defining role in the rise of new India,” he added.
Encouraging the students to be part of the new Digital India, the Union minister stated that the IT & Electronics Department alone has created almost 10 lakh new jobs in the past year, and students who have the digital skill and digital specialization will get tremendous new opportunities in jobs and entrepreneurship.
