Imphal, April 16: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to Manipur on Monday, stated that the upcoming election is not a battle between BJP and Congress, but rather a fight between those trying to divide the state and those working to keep it unified.
While campaigning for BJP in Imphal, Manipur, Shah assured his commitment to protect the integrity of Manipur. He declared that no matter the effort, nobody will be allowed to divide Manipur. Shah, a senior BJP member, alleged that there were attempts to infiltrate the northeastern state to alter its demographic composition.
He emphasized that the Narendra Modi government’s priority is to establish peace in Manipur by involving all communities without causing any division. Shah also mentioned a conversation with Biren Singh, where Singh requested for the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) to strengthen Manipur, a request that the Central Government fulfilled.
Shah criticized Congress, accusing it of prioritizing the ‘tukde tukde’ gang and having an agenda to divide Manipur. He confidently stated that nobody has the courage to divide Manipur.
He reiterated that the election is not about choosing between Congress and BJP but about selecting those who talk about breaking Manipur versus those who want to keep it united. He concluded by saying that the purpose of this election is to re-elect Modi as the prime minister for the third term.
