70th Bordoloi Trophy: Tinsukia Barekuri FC beat 19th APNB Dibrugarh in final

SIVASAGAR, Feb 23: In the tense summit clash of the Sivasagar Cluster of the on going 70th Bharat Ratna Gooinath Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament, Tinsukia Barekuri FC defeated 19th APNB Dibrugarh by a solitay goal in the final played at Peoli Phukan Stadium on Sunday. The all- important goal was scored by Mayukh Gogoi in the 30th minute through a beautiful solo dribbling down the right flank.

The police team made an all out attempt for the equaliser which was not there due to solid defence of the Barekuri team. Both tge teams squandered a dozen of opportunities to score in both halves. Ripunath Gogoi was the referee in tge final match.

Shining Sangma of the APBN team was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.

The trophies were handed over by Naser Gul Khan, cricket secretary  of Guwahati Sports Association, PK Das, GM, Drilling, ONGC, Punaram Mili, president, Sivasagar Sports, and match referee Muktabud Hussain.

The runners up team  gots Rs 75 thousand.

Earlier, Naser Gul Khan, general secretary, Guwahati Sports Association, Cricket Secretary, inaugurated the tournament and thanked Sivasagar Sports Association for holding the Cluster 1 matches smoothly. Both the teams will participate in the final lap of the tournament in Guwahati from March.
