All Assam inter district Chess championship concludes

MARGHERITA, June 3: The 47th All Assam inter district Chess championship which began from June 1 at Paraghar Chaliha Auditorium, Digboi for women’s and under 17(open and girls) concluded successfully on Monday.

The championship is being organised by Gurukul Chess Academy, Digboi in collaboration with parents group of chess Academy, Digboi,Senior Chess players of Digboi and Rotary Club Digboi under the aegis of All Assam Chess Association.

Pallab Sharma vice president of All Assam Chess Association Tinsukia district committee said said that in this championship more than 141 chess players participated from 11 districts of Assam.

The qualified chess players shall be selected for state level later they will be send to National level said Pallab Sharma.

On the concluding  day many distinguished and resource persons of Assam were present such as renowned chess player Dr Noni Gopal Singh, noted social worker of Digboi Diganta Saikia, Digboi Rotary Club president Trilok Gupta, AJYCP Central Committee assistant secretary Surojit Moran, All Assam Chess Association Tinsukia district committee vice president Pallab Sharma, All Assam Chess Association Dibrugarh District Committee president Probin Gogoi among others.

The winners and runners-up of the chess championship were awarded with cash  along with trophy.
