Assam shines at 6th national masters games in Goa

Goa, Feb 20: The 6th National Masters Game (NMG) was held in Goa from February 8 to 13, displaying a wealth of sporting talent from across India.

Assam’s Dr. Gulab Deka of Jorhat stood out with his remarkable success in Darts and Yoga, securing two gold medals. He has now qualified for the upcoming World Masters Game in Taiwan.

The NMG offered a wide range of sports, including athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, bodybuilding, chess, darts, football, hockey, handball, judo, kabaddi, powerlifting, swimming, shooting, tennis, table tennis, volleyball and weightlifting.

The event, which lasted for six days, saw more than 3000 participants from 24 states competing in 18 disciplines under different age groups.
