SIVASAGAR, Jan 3: Jangam CC secured a convincing victory over Gaenz CC, defeating them by 161 runs in a match held at Durbar Field on Wednesday. In this 6th Assam Premier Club Cricket Tournament, Abhishek Shah (74), Mrinal Dutta (62), and the man of the match, Arfan Wakil Rahman (47), played crucial roles in helping Jangam post a formidable total of 279/9 in 40 overs. Gaenz struggled in their innings and were eventually bowled out for 118/9 in 30.1 overs, with Abdul Salam contributing 25 runs. Jangam’s Jabaz Khan took 3/15 wickets.
In the other match, Phoenix CC emerged victorious by defeating Cricket Club of Sivasagar by 7 wickets. CCS faced a tough challenge as they were dismissed for just 96 runs in 21.2 overs. Wasim Akram Haque top-scored with 29 runs, and Julian Konwar added 16 runs. The man of the match, Harpal Shaikia, played a key role in their downfall, taking 3/13, while Dennis Ahmed contributed with 2/26. Phoenix successfully chased down the target, reaching 97/3, with Madhurya scoring 38 runs.
