Malong Athare Cricket Club win 1st Karbi Nokbe Night Cricket Tournament

DIPHU, Sept 23: Malong  Athare Cricket Club won the 1st Karbi Nokbe Night Cricket Tournament 2024 by defeating Handsome Boys’ in the final match played at Diphu Govt. Boys HS school playground on Sunday evening here. The tournament is played in 6 overs.
Handsome Boys’ won the toss and elected to field first in the final. Batting first, Malong Athare scored 79 /3 wickets (6 Overs). Chasing the target, Handsome Boys’ could only manage to score 27/6 wickets in (6 Overs). Malong Athare won the final match by 52 runs. The champions team was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 50,000. While runners team also received a trophy and cash prize.
As chief guest Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Madhuram Lekthe and Ritesh Enghi and Lumbajong MAC Johny Timung were present.
Huge numbers of cricket fans gathered to witness the match. The tournament was organised by Karbi Nokbe Cricket Club. The tournament is of 6 Overs and 8 players. Several teams took part in the tournament.
