New Delhi, April 15: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set a new record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by scoring their highest total ever, 287/3, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday.
The previous highest IPL total, 277/3, was also set by SRH against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 27, 2024. Before SRH broke the record, it was held by RCB, who scored 263 runs against Pune Warriors India in Bengaluru in 2013.
Travis Head, SRH opener, set a franchise record by scoring the fastest hundred in IPL history, reaching the century mark in 39 deliveries against RCB. Heinrich Klaasen also contributed with an aggressive half-century.
Earlier in the match, RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first against Pat Cummins-led SRH.
