IMPHAL, July 18 (NNN): The Manipur government has issued a stern warning, stating that it will take decisive actions against those involved in blocking highways, which disrupts the lifeline of the state. In an official statement from the chief minister’s secretariat, it was mentioned that a meeting of the Government of Manipur legislators was held under the chairmanship of chief minister N Biren Singh. The meeting expressed deep concern over the highway blockades carried out by certain groups, emphasizing that such actions undermine public safety and disrupt the smooth flow of essential services and goods.

The statement further emphasized that no individual or group should take the law into their own hands. The state government is fully committed to taking strong measures against those responsible for blocking highways, as they pose a threat to the lifeline of the state. It urged all citizens to respect the rule of law, refrain from vigilantism, and work together to maintain peace, harmony, and the overall well-being of society.

During the meeting, the attendees also addressed the alarming rise in heinous killings of innocent individuals. The state government vehemently condemned these acts of violence, emphasizing that regardless of religion, community, or gender, the killings of innocent individuals are unacceptable. The statement acknowledged the swift and efficient actions taken by the state security forces, which have resulted in the apprehension of the accused involved in these crimes. This demonstrates the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and their families.

The Manipur government firmly reiterated its stance against all forms of violence and discrimination. It emphasized the importance of upholding peace, harmony, and unity within the state, and called upon all citizens to join hands in fostering a safe and inclusive society.
