KOKRAJHAR, May 8: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) executive member and BJP leader Gautam Das has denied the fabricated news against him which states that he has been allegedly communicating with the Opposition BPF party for a merger in order to form a government in Bodoland Territorial Region.
Addressing the reporters on Sunday at a press conference held at Co-operative Guest House, Titaguri in Kokrajhar, Das came down heavily on Opposition BPF for carrying viral information which states that some BJP elected members and BTC executive members are merging up with the BPF to form a government in the BTR.
He said that the reports of merging of some BJP elected members including him was totally baseless and politically motivated by the Opposition BPF to regain its party image among the common masses.
He also said that the viral reports highlighted on the news are totally baseless and politically manipulated by the Opposition which has been aiming to create confusion and chaos among the society.
He has denied all the claims of a possible merger.
He also accused that the BPF party is now distancing itself from the common masses as the party has been losing its popularity in the region.
“I quit the BPF party quite a few years ago and joined the BJP party and became an executive member in the BTR government to serve the common masses with dedication. BJP elected members and BTR executive members are deeply committed to the party organisation as well as the BTR government. There is no possibility of any BJP party member merging up with the Opposition BPF in the region,” Das said.
