Book titled ‘Xuworoni Xubax’ released

GUWAHATI, Oct 9: A book titled “Xuworoni Xubax,” published under the auspices of the Satradhikar Bhadra Krishna Goswami Memorial Committee, was released on October 09, 2023, at the Guwahati Press Club in the presence of a distinguished gathering.

The book, a collection of writings by Dibya Rekha Goswami, is the result of the author’s unwavering ambition and heartfelt intention during her twilight years to leave a material imprint on the minds of people. The book launch was attended by Mrinalini Devi, President of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad and Vice-President of Assam Sahitya Sabha, and Hemanta Bijoy Mahanta, Former Principal Commissioner of Income Tax and a prominent author.

During the launch, social activist Mrinalini Devi described the book as containing a universe of possibilities and praised the author for her pioneering work that has inspired a new generation of Assamese writers. Hemanta Bijoy Mahanta, a devoted pursuer of Sattriya culture, highlighted the author’s remarkable achievement in penning down her travel experiences and teachings despite the challenges faced by women of her generation.

The book launch event began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the author and other dignitaries. A recital of the pious kohl of the Satra tradition marked the auspicious initiation of the event. Mitali Goswami Trochin, the General Secretary of Satradhikar Bhadra Krishna Goswami Memorial Committee, welcomed everyone with a warm speech. The book, “Xuworoni Xubax,” was dedicated by the author to her late husband and Assam Sattra Parishad President, Shri Shri Jokai Sattra Satradhikar Bhadrakrishna Goswami. The event concluded with a note of thanks delivered by Mrinali Chaudhury, Joint Secretary of Satradhikar Bhadrakrishna Goswami Memorial Committee.
