Assam: Water supply disrupted after pipe burst in Guwahati’s Hatigarh

Guwahati, Oct 25: The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board on Wednesday announced a disruption in water supply in Hatigarh and its adjacent areas due to a water pipe burst incident.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday during the Vijaya Dashami festivities, resulted in the inundation of Hatigarh Chari Ali. The board stated that the disruption was caused by urgent repair works at Hatigarh Chariali.

Taking to X, the jal board posted, “We would like to inform our esteemed consumers that water supply will be interrupted on 25.10.23 in DMA6G4 having areas namely Bhaskar Nagar, Hatigarh Chariali, Sarbudoy Nagar etc. due to urgent repairing work at Hatigarh Chariali. We regret the inconveniences.”

Among the affected areas are Bhaskar Nagar, Hatigarh Chariali, and Sarbudoy Nagar. The water supply is expected to be restored once the repair works are completed.
