NAGAON, Nov 11: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in association
with its local anchor agency – Gramya Unnayan Sangstha and technical training partner M/S East Land
Service organized a two-day special training programme for marketing on e-Commerce, Social Media
Platforms and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) at the Nagaon Swahid Bhavan in nagaon.
Over a hundred participants from Hojai and Nagaon attended the programme organized on November 8
and 9.
While addressing the inaugural session of the training, DDM-NABARD, Rajendar Perna said, “NABARD is
committed to supporting all the rural artisans and women self-help group (SHG) members, who have a
vision and passion to pursue their dreams and who have the zeal to sustain their enterprises and
become the role models for others to follow.”
He further shared that in this mission, he was receiving complete guidance and support from the
regional office of NABARD at Guwahati, the district administrations of both the district commissioners,
the LDMs/ bankers/ ASRLM, NGOs, SHG members etc.
During the programme, the TTP M/s East Land Services, delivered demonstrative sessions on topics like
models of e-Commerce, SMPs, GST registration, photo shoot, videography, digital payments, packaging,
branding, trademark registration, labelling, advertising, storing, marketing etc. Further, the participants
have also received guidance from the LDM-Nagaon, the branch head of AGVB-Nagaon branch, a local
entrepreneur Achinta Sarmah and other officials.
Perna said, “In order to enhance the livelihood opportunities of local artisans, farmers, producers
including younger artisans and women, NABARD will go ahead to build up a “Vocal for Local” ecosystem
and it has already initiated the process of geographical identification registration of various products like
Assam Japi, Sarthebari metal craft, Majuli aask, Majuli manuscript painting, Assam water hyacinth Craft,
Assam Vrindawani Vastra, Assam Bihu Ddhol and Assam Asharikandi terracotta.”
Assam Governor greets people on Kali Puja and Deepawali

GUWAHATI, Nov 11: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria extended his greetings to the people of the
state on the joyous occasion of Kali Puja and Deepawali. The Governor hoped that the divine blessings of
Maa Kali bring joy peace and prosperity to the people of the state.
Shri Kataria said, “Deepawali is the festival of lights which signifies the victory of righteousness over the
evil. The festival also dispels darkness to pave the way for wisdom. May this festival of lights be the
harbinger of peace, joy and prosperity to ward off all darkness from our state to strengthen the bond of
unity, amity and brotherhood amidst us.”
The Governor also urged the people to celebrate a pollution free Deepawali and make this festival of
lights a reason to make the state cleaner and greener.
