Mizoram, Dec 23: A significant heroin consignment, reportedly worth over Rs 18 lakhs, was seized in Mizoram. Initial reports suggest a joint operation by Mizoram Police and a special task force led to the bust.
The officials, acting on specific inputs, intercepted a vehicle from Champhai. A search revealed the heroin, concealed within 30 woolen blankets. At least 50 soap cases filled with heroin were also seized during the operation.

The package was reportedly intended for a woman named Laldingpui, a resident of Lunglei. The officials weighed the seized consignment at approximately 601.14 grams.
The estimated worth of the heroin consignment is Rs 18,03,420. Laldingpui has since been arrested, and legal proceedings have begun against all involved. Further details are pending.
