NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati celebrates 19th Raising Day

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 17: NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati marked its 19th Raising Day at its plant premises in Salakati, Kokrajhar district, on Tuesday with a fitting program.

Karunakar Das, the chief general manager (CGM) of NTPC Bongaigaon, hoisted the NTPC flag at the administrative building premises, followed by the NTPC Geet and cutting of the cake. Balloons in NTPC colours were released by Das in the presence of Sanjay Pande, GM (Project), Induri S Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), GM Thangzom, commandant, CISF, departmental heads, employees from various departments, unions and associations, members of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, and CISF.

In his address, Das mentioned that NTPC Bongaigaon’s foundation stone laid on January 16, 2006, has opened the gates of development in the entire BTR area. He also highlighted various achievements of the station. The station achieved the highest power generation in FY 22-23 of 5026.88 MU and a PLF of 76.51% in FY 22-23, surpassing the previous generation of 4201.45 MU in FY 21-22. The Unit II of the power station achieved the longest continuous run of 236 days, and the station recorded the lowest monthly Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC) of 8.08% in February 2023, showcasing exceptional operational efficiency. NTPC Bongaigaon also achieved a single day highest generation of 17.773 MU on June 9, 2023, at a PLF of 98.73%.

Das emphasized that the core strength of NTPC Bongaigaon lies in the rich pool of experienced professionals with a vibrant group of young executives. He urged all to work, think, and strategise on projecting NTPC Bongaigaon as a professionally driven and value-based organisation. Das also outlined the initiatives taken in NTPC Bongaigaon on the O&M, environment, and ash utilisation fronts.

As part of corporate social responsibility, a blanket distribution for more than 30 senior citizens of nearby villages below the poverty line was organised in association with the district administration, Salakati Acchalik Senior Citizens Mancha, and Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon.

A friendly cricket match between NTPC Bongaigaon and CISF Unit of NTPC Bongaigaon was held, where CISF won by 40 runs. Ashish Kumar, deputy commandant, CISF Unit of NTPC Bongaigaon, was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’.
