Tezpur, May 26: “Presently I am making a few special products like green tea, blue tea, orthodox tea, oolong tea, moringa tea, white tea and black tea in my factory which has high demand both in local and outside markets,” Anuj said and added that since 2017, he has been exporting his products to the country’s major places like Delhi, Mumbai and Pune and even abroad including the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Anuj Saha, a hard working youth of Barchala-Bhangamandir area, some 40 km. away from Dhekiajuli town under Barchala LAC in Sonitpur district is now being able to show a way of livelihood through an organically managed small tea garden. He owns a small factory where he makes tea of different varieties and tastes.

With a minimum academic credential but with practical experience in the field of organic farming, he started his venture in 2015 in fifty bigha land. He first started with green tea followed by blue tea, Anuj today produces more than 16 kinds of organic tea exporting abroad. The ideal small tea grower has not only become an attraction for others including media but is a brand today in the entire Barchala belt with the name ‘Basundhara Tea’.

Anuj Saha, who has become a role model among the frustrated section of unemployed youths of the area brought laurels to his locality by achieving the honour of best tea producer by exhibiting his products in the World Tea Conclave held in 2017. It might be apt to mention here that at a time when all sectors had remained stagnant during the Covid-19 pandemic induced situation, Anuj’s venture couldn’t not be resisted; rather he maintained his effort with more enthusiasm.

For him, if done in an organised manner one could achieve success in every field. “We have many potentialities in our surrounding as we belong to a naturally prosperous zone like Assam where every kind of farming and agro-based activity is possible. Only important thing is that our willpower and dedication that help to grab everything is always to be ushered up,” he added.
