Shyam Nishan Padayatra set to commence from Hojai to Nagaon

HOJAI, March 3: Sawariya Bhakat Mandal, Hojai, is going to organise the ‘Shyam Nishan Padayatra’ (footsteps procession) with a traditional procession on March 9 and 10. Pramod More and Rajesh Kejriwal have been appointed as the convenors of the Shyam Nishan Padayatra. Notably, as per the grace of the incarnation of God in this Kali Yuga, Baba Shyam, Sawariya Bhakat Mandal is going to organise a Nishan Padayatra (rally with a religious flag to be offered to Baba Shyam) from Hojai’s Laxminarayan Temple campus to Nagaon’s Shyam Dham.

On March 9, early morning at 5:30, the ritual (puja) will begin at Laxminarayan Temple, and at 6:15 am, the Padayatra will start from Hojai for Nagaon’s Shyam Dham temple followed by the ‘Shyam Chariot’ along with the devotees in traditional attire holding the Nishan (Shyam flag). On March 10, i.e., the next day, it will reach its destination in Nagaon in the evening. The 50-kilometer Padayatra will have six stoppages at Nilbagan, Daboka, Jabrakhuwa, Nonoi, Kuthyatuli, Borghat, and during the procession, Shyam hymns will be sung by devotees. On March 9, the devotees will rest at a stoppage in Kuthyatuli overnight.

The members of Sawariya Bhakat Mandal have requested all the devotees of Baba Shyam to make this religious event successful by participating in large numbers. As per information, till now, 110 devotees from Hojai, Nagaon, Lanka, Guwahati, Kuthyatuli, Daboka, etc., have registered their names for the Nishan Padayatra. Devotees can register their names with Shyam devotees: Lalit Bora, Aman Kejriwal, Anita Bajaj, and Sangeeta Bhimsaria.
