JORHAT, June 2: The Jorhat district BJP president Hemanta Kalita stated that the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre after coming to power in 2014 has ushered in a new era of prosperity and progress across the country.
On the occasion of completion of eight years of the NDA government led by Modi, Kalita while addressing media persons highlighted the achievements of the government.
Stating that there had been a huge turn around in the overall scenario of the country, Kalita said that from giving an economic boost to the country to reaching out to the marginal sections of society by taking up a series of poverty alleviation programmes along with schemes to fulfil the basic needs of the people like drinking water, health facilities and education, the government had developed in all spheres.
Following the policy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash, Sabka Vishwas as introduced by Modi, the transportation infrastructure, trade and commerce, agri sector, and sanitation initiatives, there has been a huge improvement.
Stating that 11 crore toilets have been constructed during this period across the country under Swachh Bharat Mission, he also said that Covid had adversely impacted the financial condition of almost all the countries in the world, in comparison India had tided over the crises in a better way.
The BJP Jorhat president, who was the former AGP MLA of Titabar, said that the Northeastern region has got the attention of the Centre and there has been much development in the region.
Kalita said that the people of the country had responded positively to Modi’s leadership which can be gauged from the fact that since 2014, Congress has lost 41 out 50 elections to the BJP.
The people of the NE states have rejected the Congress party.
He also gave a list of initiatives taken for development of Jorhat district.
General secretaries of Jorhat district BJP IP Bordoloi and Amar Jyoti Saikia along with district media cell of the party Bonny Saikia were present in the meet.
