Aizawl, May 13: On May 11, 2024, Mizoram Police and Assam Rifles carried out a series of operations, making significant seizures and disrupting illicit activities in the region.
During a routine check at Chalbawia Junction Khankawn, Champhai District Police intercepted a vehicle. Hidden within the dashboard and door panels, authorities found 99 soap cases containing a powder suspected to be heroin.

The seized heroin weighed 1.110 kgs and is valued at approximately Rs 33,30,000/-. The driver, a 22-year-old named Paumuansanga, was arrested and a case was registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
Later that day, a joint operation near Thangkhup Kai in Zokhawthar Village led to the recovery of 3.105 kgs of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, valued at Rs 9.1 crore.
