MSSV To Be Made Hub Of Education: Pegu

NAGAON, June 16: The State Education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu on Thursday arrived at Nagaon and also visited several Government educational institutions of the town.

During his visit, the minister reviewed the educational institutions and took stock about the poor performance of the students in the latest HSLC Examination from the heads of the concerned institutions, sources added.

Sources claimed that during the visit, the minister rushed to Dawson Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School early on Thursday morning and then he visited Nagaon Bengali Higher Secondary school, Bengali High School, Bengali Girls’ High School and Bengali boys’ LP School and directed the institution heads to take appropriate steps to strengthen the academic atmosphere in and around the educational institutions.

During the trip, the minister also suggested that all those four Bengali medium educational institutions would be amalgamated soon through proper assessment and discussion with all concerned heads as well as management committees of the institutions.

Thereafter the minister went to the main campus of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev Vishwavidyalaya (MSSV) near at Raidongia village where Babul Bora, the secretary general of Srimanta Shankardev Sangha and registrar of the university Dr Mrinal Kumar Bora welcomed him.

While addressing a felicitation programme held in a befitting manner, the minister said the State Government is ready to fulfil all requirements to make the university a splendid hub of higher education and will afford more land if it requires.

Expressing his utmost satisfaction over the beautiful atmosphere of the university being constructed at the greater Raidongia area, Dr Pegu instructed the authority concerned of the construction agencies to complete the university buildings within the stipulated time.
