Sikkim: SKM Strategizes for Election Day with Confidence in Victory

Gangtok, May 27: The Constituency Level Committee (CLC) of the 15-Rangang Yangang constituency held a strategic meeting at the CLC party office in Yangang Bazar to appoint a counting agent for the upcoming legislative and parliamentary election counting day.

Chaired by Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate Raj Kumari Thapa, the meeting saw the participation of several key party figures, including Chief Coordinator (Media Cell) Bikash Basnet, General Secretary (Organisation, Namchi District) C.L. Gurung, CLC President Tengala Namkha, CLC Nari Convenor Smt. Denkila Bhutia, CLC General Secretary Gopal Timsina, CLC Vice President Manoj Khanal, and CLC Advisors Shanti Basnet, along with other party executives.

Election Coordinator and Election Agent Durga Psd Basnet provided a comprehensive overview of the counting procedure, outlining the specific roles and responsibilities of the counting agents. He also briefed attendees on the guidelines for supporters’ seating arrangements on counting day.

Tengala Namka called on all party workers to ensure peace and tranquility during the counting process, expressing confidence in SKM’s assured victory and stating that the counting process is merely a formality.

Bikash Basnet predicted that the opposition stands no chance of winning any seats and might attempt to provoke SKM supporters. He emphasized SKM’s commitment to maintaining peace and declared that any form of violence would not be tolerated. He highlighted SKM’s dedication to state peace since their 2019 victory and assured that this stance will continue, with zero tolerance for post-election violence.

Candidate Raj Kumari Thapa expressed gratitude to all supporters for their dedication to the party and its leader, P.S. Golay. She pledged to work tirelessly for the well-being of the party supporters and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and decorum post-elections. Thapa assured attendees of SKM’s victory in Rangang Yangang with a significant margin and urged party workers to disregard the opposition’s rumors, describing them as “empty vessels making unnecessary noise.”
