TEZPUR, Nov 20: Ghoramari Primary Boro Sahitya Sabha launched a collection of poetry entitled ‘Abegni Jilingani’, penned by Anima Mahela, and a souvenir containing the history and a brief account of the Rajgarh area, located by the bank of the Jia Bharali, edited by Minuma Boro, during its annual conference held on the inception day of Bodo Sahitya Sabha at Rajgarh here recently.
Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rabha, unveiling the souvenir of Ghoramari Primary Boro Sahitya Sabha entitled ‘Rajgarhni Jarimin’, elaborated on the history of the Boro nation and its distinctive features in his speech. The poetry collection by Anima Mahela was unveiled by Biswajit Boro, headmaster of Jugal Higher Secondary School. Attending the open session as chief guest and distinguished guest respectively, assistant professor of Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College Phanidhar Basumatary and president of Nagaon District Boro Sahitya Sabha Prashanta Boro discussed the aspects of Boro literature and the role of Bodo Sahitya Sabha in the overall development and growth of the Boro language and literature.
The open session, inaugurated by Md Khairul Akond, headmaster of Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed High School, was chaired by Ghoramari Primary Boro Sahitya Sabha president Dandiram Swargiary. The entire programme, moderated by Chitramani Boro, was graced by dignitaries, including former MLA of Borsola Kamal Basumatary, and social activists Pabitra Kumar Boro, Dipak Boro, Aparna Hainary, Deba Kumar Boro, Gulzar Hussain, Kalyan Boro, and several others.
The delegate meeting, followed by the open session, was inaugurated by Jatin Basumatary, a member of Bodo Sahitya Sabha. The meeting also formed the new executive committee of Ghoramari Primary Boro Sahitya Sabha, headed by Dipak Boro as president. At the very outset, the flag of Bodo Sahitya Sabha was unfurled by Dandiram Swargiary, and president of Bathou Mahasabha Deba Kumar Boro led the tribute-paying programme at the newly constructed altar of martyrs at Rajgarh. The captivating cultural events and Bagrumba dance presented during the programme mesmerised the guests, audience, and delegates of Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
