Demow’s Shasanka wins Bronze in Hand-to-Hand Fighting World Cup Final in Astana

DEMOW, Nov 24: The 2024 Hand-to-Hand Fighting World Cup Final was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from November 20 to November 23. Shasanka Gogoi, a resident of Palengi near Demow, brought laurels to the country, State, and the Sivasagar district by winning the bronze medal in the under-57 kg category.

Four players from Assam participated in the event, accompanied by Debajit Gogoi, general secretary of the All Assam Hand-to-Hand Sports Association, who served as a referee. Swapna Lahon, president, and Dipankar Chetia, Secretary of the Sivasagar District Hand-to-Hand Sports Association, congratulated Shasanka Gogoi on his remarkable achievement.
