Dibrugarh University International Literature Festival 2.0 to commence from Feb 5

Event will feature engaging discussions, readings, and interactive sessions

DIBRUGARH, Feb 3: Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with the Foundation for Culture, Arts & Literature (FOCAL), is set to host the highly anticipated Dibrugarh University International Literature Festival 2.0 from February 5 to 8, 2025, at the university campus.

This grand literary event will welcome over 120 writers from more than 25 countries, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and cultural perspectives.

With over 50 sessions and workshops, the festival will provide a platform for renowned authors, poets, and scholars to share their insights, experiences, and literary wisdom.

The event will feature engaging discussions, readings, and interactive sessions that celebrate the power of literature in shaping society and fostering global connections.

The festival will see participation from acclaimed international writers, including Abdulai Sila (Guinea-Bissau), Alvydas Šlepikas (Lithuania), Ann Morgan (United Kingdom), Anna Maria Gehnyei (Italy), Carla Marisa Fernandes (Portugal), Diana Mickevičienė (Lithuania), Firat Sunel (Turkey), Gaston Dorren (Netherlands), Hamid Ismailov (Uzbekistan), Inga Simpson (Australia), Kateryna Babkina (Ukraine), Kunzang Choden (Bhutan), Lucy Caldwell (Northern Ireland), Nanjala Nyabola (Kenya), Raïs Neza Boneza (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Samson Kambalu (Malawi), Siphiwo Mahala (South Africa), and Tété-Michel Kpomassie (Togo).

The festival will also feature an impressive lineup of Indian authors, including A. R. Venkatachalapathy, Abdullah Khan, Abhay K, A. J. Thomas, Ajit Prasad Rout, Amish Raj Mulmi, Anju Ranjan, Annie Zaidi, Anuradha Mascarenhas, Arjun Sengupta, Damodar Mauzo, Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Jairam N. Menon, K. Vaishali, Kanishka Gupta, Karthika V.K., Kiran Khalap, Krishnan Srinivasan, K. S. Nair, Lakshmi Puri, Lekha Rai, Manu Dash, Meeran Chadha Borwankar, Megha Rao, Nandini Oberoi, Pallavi Mansingh, Paramita Satpathy, Pankaj Thapa, Rabindra K. Swain, Rahul Soni, Ranjit Rae, Sadhna Shanker, Saikat Majumdar, Salma (Rajathi Samsudeen), Satya Mohanty, Shaneel Mukerji, Smriti Ravindra, Soma Das, Sunitha Krishnan, Thomas Mathew, Vikas Swarup, Vivek Menezes, and Yojna Rawat.

A strong contingent of writers from the Northeast will also be present, including G. Kanato Chophy, Jatwang Wangsa, Joy L. K. Pachuau (Mizoram), Kallol Bhattacherjee, Linthoi Chanu, Lt. Gen. Konsam Himalay Singh, Mamang Dai, Martin Thokchom, Oken Tayeng, Paul Lyngdoh, Ravikant Singh (Ibohal Kshetrimayum), Robin S. Ngangom, and Vanlalruata Ralte.

Prominent Assamese writers participating in the festival include Anuradha Sarma Pujari, Arupa Patangia Kalita, Barnali Patowary, Bipul Deuri, Brigadier Ranjit Barthakur, Dhruba Hazarika, Dhrubajyoti Bora, Dibyajyoti Sarma, Harsita Hiya, Indrani Baruah, Indrani Laskar, Jahnu Barua, Jayanto Narayan Choudhury, Kalyan Bhuyan, Kalyan Chakravarthy, Karabi Deka Hazarika, Kaustubh Deka, Kishor Mohan Bhattacharyya, Kuladhar Saikia, Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita, Madhurima Baruah, Mridul Bordoloi, Nabin Baruah, Nasmeem F. Akhtar, Pradipta Sankar Hazarika, Pradipta Borgohain, Prakalpa Ranjan Bhagawati, Rahul Jain, Ranjit Barthakur, Rashmi Narzary, Ritushmita Sharma, and Shiuli Barua.

Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar of Dibrugarh University, expects full participation from the people of Assam and the journalistic fraternity of the state.
