GUWAHATI, Feb 22: The Union minister of state for external affairs and textiles Pabitra Margherita, interacted with the media as part of the BJP’s budget outreach program in Shillong on Saturday.
The minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a promising budget for Viksit Bharat.
Margherita briefed the media on the features of the Union Budget for 2025-26, highlighting key reforms such as zero income tax for incomes up to Rs 12 lakh, as well as initiatives in infrastructural development, farmer welfare, education, health, and technology.
The minister placed special emphasis on the significant budget allocations for the North East and Meghalaya in particular. The notable increase in budget allocation for programs under the Ministry of development of north eastern region (MoDoNER), including PM-DevINE, NESIDS, and NEC, would promote effective and all-round development in the North Eastern Region.
