HOWRAGHAT, March 10: The second instalment of financial assistance to tribal places of worship and cultural institutions was distributed at a function held in Guwahati.

The event was attended by Assam minister Ronoj Pegu and Jogen Mohan on Sunday.

The said instalment was distributed to the temples of Batho and Brahma religions of the Bodos and various other tribals like Karbi, Deuri and Sonowal.
Rs 5.50 crore for Sadao Batho Mahasabha (Gardchuk, Guwahati), Rs 5 lakh each for 189 indigenous and tribal places of worship, Rs 5 lakh each for 36 indigenous tribal faiths and places of worship and Rs 10 lakh each for 6 tribal faiths and cultural institutions.
