A key outcome of the meeting was the decision to conduct stakeholder consultations involving industry bodies, potential investors, and state officials across the region to formulate a strategic investment roadmap.

Taking to social media platform X, Minister Scindia said he participated in the task force meeting chaired by CM Saha, in the presence of Sikkim’s Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation Tshering T Bhutia, senior officials from the Meghalaya Government, and representatives from the Ministry of DoNER.

”Together, we are driving a unified vision for a vibrant, investment-ready Northeast,” Scindia stated.

The Union Minister also held a follow-up review with the Tripura Chief Minister, senior officials from the state, and MDoNER to assess the progress of key developmental projects.

Highlighting Tripura’s potential as a gateway for tourism, trade, agriculture, and investment in the region, Scindia stressed the importance of strengthening core infrastructure to unlock opportunities for inclusive development and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Later, CM Manik Saha noted that as the convener of the High-Level Task Force on Investment Promotion in the North Eastern Region—constituted by the North Eastern Council (NEC)—he chaired its second meeting virtually in the presence of Union Minister Scindia and senior government officials.

“It was decided to hold stakeholder consultations with industry associations, potential investors, and officials from all Northeastern states to develop a strategic roadmap for investment promotion. Reputed academic institutions and expert agencies will also be roped in to draft the Investment Policy for the region,” Saha said.
