GUWAHATI, July 10: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will host Rozgar Melas at Guwahati, Dimapur and Siliguri on July 12 as part of a nationwide employment drive under the Government of India’s flagship initiative to boost public sector job opportunities for the youth.
The events, scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, are being organised under the leadership of the Ministry of Railways in coordination with several other Central Government departments.
According to an official statement issued by the NFR, these Melas are intended to distribute appointment letters to newly recruited candidates selected for various Central Government posts.
Rozgar Melas are being conducted simultaneously across 47 locations throughout the country, ranging from major cities to smaller regional hubs.
This large-scale mobilisation reflects the Centre’s commitment to expanding employment opportunities, streamlining the recruitment process and ensuring direct outreach to young aspirants from diverse regions.
The Indian Railways is playing a key organisational role in these events, which will witness the participation of Union Ministers and Members of Parliament.
They will personally hand over appointment letters to successful candidates, marking the formal beginning of their public service careers.
Within the jurisdiction of the Northeast Frontier Railway, a total of 625 appointment letters will be issued during Saturday’s programme.
The event in Guwahati will be held at Rang Bhawan, N F Railway Headquarters, Maligaon, where Union Cabinet Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, will preside as the chief guest.
In Dimapur, the Rozgar Mela will take place at the Town Hall, Super Market Lane, Half Nagarjan.
The event will be attended by Kiren Rijiju, Union Cabinet Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs.
The Siliguri programme is scheduled to be held at the VIP Officers’ Rest House, Kashmir Colony, New Jalpaiguri.
Ajay Tamta, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, will attend the event and distribute the appointment letters.
Through this initiative, the Government aims to facilitate meaningful careers for India’s youth in various arms of public administration while addressing the broader goals of economic inclusion and efficient service delivery.
The Northeast Frontier Railway, in its official communication, reiterated its dedication to national development and inclusive growth by fostering youth employment and supporting government-backed employment initiatives.
