NFR organises Rozgar Mela

Over 51,000 appointment letters distributed nationwide under Centre’s employment initiative

GUWAHATI, May 23: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) successfully organised Rozgar Mela programmes at Guwahati, Dimapur and Siliguri on Friday as part of the Government of India’s nationwide employment generation initiative.

The programmes were organised in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment towards employment generation and youth empowerment.

More than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly selected candidates across the country during the nationwide event.

The Prime Minister participated in the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing at 11 am and addressed newly appointed candidates.

In his address, Modi urged the youth to dedicate themselves to nation-building and public service while highlighting the government’s emphasis on transparent, merit-based and technology-driven recruitment systems.

This phase of the Rozgar Mela was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across India, including three venues under the jurisdiction of NFR.

Around 400 participants attended physically at each venue, including nearly 200 newly recruited candidates.

Appointment letters were formally distributed by dignitaries present at the respective events.

The Guwahati programme was held at Rang Bhawan Auditorium at the NF Railway Headquarters in Maligaon in the presence of Sarbananda Sonowal and Bijuli Kalita Medhi.

Senior railway officials led by Veer Bhadra Vishwakarma were also present.

The dignitaries handed over appointment letters to newly recruited candidates and congratulated them on joining government service.

At Dimapur, the programme was organised at the Town Hall in the presence of Pabitra Margherita along with senior officials and invited dignitaries.

The Siliguri programme took place at the Officers’ Club in Kashmir Colony, New Jalpaiguri, in the presence of Kamlesh Paswan and Jayanta Kumar Roy, besides local MLAs and officials.

The appointments covered various ministries and departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, among others.

NFR stated that the Rozgar Mela initiative continues to serve as an important platform for connecting youth with employment opportunities in public service and reaffirmed its commitment towards supporting national development and youth empowerment initiatives.
