Another Literary Award For YD Thongchi

GUWAHATI, Aug 11: The Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Gowenka Public Charitable Trust has decided to confer the ‘Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Gowenka Memorial National Award for Excellence in Literature-2022’ upon distinguished writer and thinker Yeshe Dorje Thongchi. According to the trust, the award presentation function will be held in Guwahati on September 25, next.

Notably, since 2007, the Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Gowenka Public Charitable Trust has been presenting ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to at least 27 artists and writers of the NE region for their invaluable contributions. Along with this, the Trust also presents Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Memorial National Award for Excellence in Literature every year since 2017. So far, eminent writers who have received this award are Dr Nagen Saikia and Nirupama Borgohain.

The award contains a trophy, a citation, a plaque, felicitation items like shawl, gamosa, bouquet and a cheque of Rs 2.01 lakh.
