JAMUGURIHAT, July 20: Prajanmya Unmesh, a noted socio-cultural organisation of Assam, continues to extend its contributions beyond the realm of culture by recognising and supporting individuals who exemplify merit and determination.
In a heartwarming gesture, the organisation on Sunday felicitated Miss Rituparna Nath, a girl student from a financially disadvantaged background, for her outstanding academic performance.
Rituparna Nath, a resident of Jamugurihat, has secured the highest marks—86.3 percent—in the Electrical Engineering department at Jorhat Engineering College.
Her achievement has brought immense pride to the local community, with congratulatory messages pouring in from various quarters.
Her father, Montu Kumar Nath, a petty electrician, is being widely praised for his tireless efforts and sacrifices in ensuring his daughter’s education.
Despite limited means, he supported her aspirations with unwavering commitment. Rituparna now wishes to pursue higher studies and continue her academic journey.
Led by internationally acclaimed Bhaona artist and Chief Executive of Prajanmya Unmesh, Arup Saikia, members of the organisation visited Rituparna’s home to felicitate her personally.
Speaking to the press, Saikia said that the organisation often selects meritorious students who are also culturally inclined for performances in India and abroad.
It may be noted that Prajanmya Unmesh has carved a niche for itself by performing traditional Assamese drama, Bhaona, in the English language under the directorship of Arup Saikia.
Their efforts have earned appreciation both at home and internationally.
The local citizens of Jamugurihat have expressed joy and satisfaction over the organisation’s socially conscious initiatives and lauded its continued commitment to promoting education and cultural values in tandem.
