New ASRLM training centre inaugurated

SIVASAGAR, July 22: A new community training centre under the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) was inaugurated at Desangpar Gaon Panchayat recently, under the zonal unit Sanmilita Adarsha Mondal Sangathan—one of the leading ASRLM units in Sivasagar district.

The centre, which will be operated by women members of self-help groups (SHGs), was inaugurated by Thowra MLA Sushant Borgohain.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr Suraj Jyoti Gogoi, District Project Manager, ASRLM, Sivasagar, along with officials from various departments, panchayat representatives, bank officers, and other dignitaries from the social sector. As part of the event, a range of products made by SHG members was also launched, showcasing the entrepreneurial capabilities of rural women associated with ASRLM.
