DHUBRI, July 29: In a significant step towards public health and sanitation, the Dhubri Municipality on Tuesday organised a free health check-up camp for sanitation workers at Harijan Colony under the ‘Safai Apnao Bimari Bhagao’ (Adopt Cleanliness, Drive Away Disease) programme.
The camp was conducted in association with the Urban Primary Health Ayushman Arogya Mandir and began at 10 AM.
A medical team from the Dhubri District Health Department carried out comprehensive health check-ups and distributed free medicines to the sanitation workers.
The initiative is aimed at addressing the health needs of the workers who play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of the town.
Executive Officer of Dhubri Municipality Namrata Pradeep Sharma said the scheme is a part of a wider initiative that includes cleanliness awareness campaigns being carried out across all 16 municipal wards.
These campaigns seek to educate residents on hygiene and disease prevention to ensure a healthier living environment.
The municipality’s dual focus on direct healthcare support for frontline sanitation workers and community outreach reflects its continued commitment to improving public health in the town.
